Started by Andy Hurwitz (founder of Ropeadope Records, Baby Loves Disco and a full time faculty member of the University of the Arts.

The Academy is sanctioned by an Honorary Board of Directors that includes some of the most accomplished DJs and producers in the world and the curriculum was created by a team of educators and child psychologists to create the best possible learning experience.

Studio 1200 is supported by a crew of graphic designers, videographers and entrepreneurs enlisted to support the creation of art and experiences that will help students learn not only the world of DJing but also experience areas of multi-media creation, event production, and more.

We are a small “mom and pop” company that believes in the power of music and the power of community.

We adopt the African proverb “It Takes A Village To Raise A Child” and incorporate that philosophy into everything we do.
