We teach all of our introductory classes using vinyl records and turntables.
At the Studio we use Technics SL-1200 turntables and Numark Mixers.

While it’s an absolute truth that the feel of the vinyl and the record player is irreplaceable, the ease of use and quality of digital controllers (see below) has made analog Djs (No computer, Just turntables and records) extinct. A somewhat happy medium can still be found by using turntables, and “digital vinyl” which is brilliantly explained to the uninitiated by DJ A-Trak.
